What is BISC?
Vision:
We envision a tight-knitted community for all the International Students from all walks of life, one that they can call their home, where they would feel respected, guided, supported, encouraged, and appreciated. Our aim is to make BISC a home away from their homes.
Mission:
Our mission is to bring together International students from diverse backgrounds through cultural, educational, and social events and nurture a generation of young leaders, through our Representatives program, who would serve the best interests of their communities while respecting and adhering to the Multiculturalism principle of BISC.
What is BISC?
The Bahcesehir University’s International Students Committee (herein referred to as BISC), supported by the International Students Office (ISO) at Bahcesehir University, is a student-led organization committed to promoting educational and cultural exchange among students of diverse backgrounds. As a student body, BISC organizes career counseling workshops, educational seminars, social and cultural events and provides meaningful engagement opportunities for students to help them excel academically and socially. Through its Volunteering and Country Representatives Initiatives, BISC aims to create a safe space for all the students where they can develop leadership skills, share ideas, and voice their opinions.
Accomplishments:
Establishment of 50+ country communities actively operating under BISC
Through the Community Representatives Initiative, we have established more than 50 country communities, each community being represented by a Representative which acts as a liasion between BISC and their community members, answers their quieries, and helps them steer clear of problems throughout their academic journey at BAU.
Annual International Day:
Our annual International Day is the most awaited event of the year where we celebrate the diversity of our students at BAU. It is a day of rejoicing our differences and cherishing our unique cultures. BISC Communities have the chance to showcase their traditional cuisines, attires, and performances. Each year we host thousands of students at South Campus, A Garden with the mesmerizing Bosphorus view.
Career Roadmap Workshop Series:
Through our Career Roadmap Workshop Series, we provided international students with valuable insights and guidance from experts in various fields. These workshops were designed to equip students with the tools, strategies, and knowledge necessary to navigate their career paths.
