Program Description

Family Counseling aims to understand the problems that it may encounter in the family system and family life cycle by analyzing and synthesizing the information it has internalized at a high level and to use this information in all services for the family. The role of family counseling will be active in the management and modeling of healthy family relationships in society, in the protection and development of the family institution by following the transformational society processes. In this context, there is a need for family counselors who ensure the sustainability of the physical, social, and emotional interaction areas of the concept of family and individual in the context of health. The new understanding of society created by innovative technologies; day by day, reveals the value given to the concept of family with different social themes. The new starting points of society increase the need for family counseling.

Purpose of the Program

The aim of the Family Counseling Master’s Program is; to be able to analyze the family system and structure, have up-to-date knowledge and skills in the field of family counseling, systematically identify the needs of the family based on the basic principles that are important in family counseling, and maintain the holistic care and follow-up of the family with an interdisciplinary team approach in line with the needs, work with effective communication and cooperation. is to train experts.

Occupational Profile of Graduates

Family counselors work in public institutions and organizations, non-governmental organizations, family health centers, and universities in order to protect and improve family health. family counselor; takes part in the organization of educational programs aimed at providing family members with knowledge and skills. Family Counseling Master’s graduates can work as “Family Counselors” in the Ministry of Family and Social Policies, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Justice, and private institutions and organizations affiliated with these ministries, in Private Family Counseling and Psycho-social centers.
